The Sounds of Joy are natives of the town of Lawrenceville, Brunswick County, Virginia.  This group comprised of four brothers and two sisters born to Dwayne Sr. and Linda Stokes Morris.  Their musical ministry began as early as age two. They sang and continue sing with various musical entities at their local church, Refuge Temple Ministries in Alberta, VA, where Bishop Thurman L. Hargrove Sr. is pastor. They also sing in the regional and international choirs of the Churches of our Lord Jesus Christ. These young people have been anointed by God to share the good news of Jesus through worship and songs which they wrote, comprised, and arranged out of their experiences and under the inspiration of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is because of the anointing and divine providence that Dwayne, Jr. (tenor), Aaron (tenor and organist), Gale (soprano/alto), Irving (tenor/ bass and drummer), John (tenor/alto), and Elois (alto/soprano) stand today to empower, inspire, and encourage all to use God given gifts and talents to His Glory. It is the mission of The Sounds of Joy to sing to the Glory of God sharing the good news of Jesus Christ to all who will listen. It is also their mission to empower others young and old to use what God has empowered them with to His Glory.

Their ministry has carried them to various parts of the states of Virginia and North Carolina with invitations to parts of South Carolina and Ohio. They have ministered on college campuses, in convalescent homes, rehabilitation centers, churches, schools and at festivals.
